Jeremy Renner reveals he worked at makeup counters for eight years on the ‘The Drew Barrymore’ show

Jeremy Renner revealed his unique journey from makeup artist to Hollywood star during a recent appearance on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’.

Renner, known for his role as the skilled archer Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reminisced about his early days before fame, where he honed his cosmetic skills at department store counters.

Armed with lipstick, Drew Barrymore sought Renner’s expert advice for achieving the perfect lip. The actor suggested, “all over your lips, so it’s lasting, because it’s more matte and less oil.” He further recommended opting for lip gloss over lipstick for added shine without the frequent need for reapplication due to its oil content, explaining that it helps avoid creasing.

Barrymore, applying a bold red lip, couldn’t help but express admiration: “God, you’re good!” This praise was well-deserved, as Renner shared that he spent eight impactful years in the beauty industry.

“I did makeup…wow, it ended up being for eight years,” he confessed. His makeup career supported his early acting pursuits, allowing him to audition during the week and beautify clients on weekends.

Despite his impressive tenure in cosmetics, Renner’s major breakthrough came with his role in the 2009 film ‘The Hurt Locker’, earning him a Best Actor Oscar nomination.

His subsequent roles in high-profile films like ‘Arrival’, two ‘Mission: Impossible’ movies, and ‘The Bourne Legacy’, as well as his continued portrayal of Hawkeye, have cemented his status as a versatile and beloved actor.

Though he’s now a familiar face in action-packed blockbusters and dramatic roles, it’s refreshing to see Renner’s lesser-known artistic talent getting the spotlight alongside his cinematic achievements.
