WOMEN’S TENNIS TEAM, SIX INDIVIDUALS HONORED BY THE ITA FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS

SACRAMENTO — For the 10th time in the last 12 years, the Sacramento State women’s tennis team has been honored as an All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, while six individual student-athletes were honored as Division I Scholar-Athletes for the 2021-22 season the organization announced.

To be honored as an All-Academic Team, programs must have a combined grade point average of 3.2 or better, while individuals must post a GPA of at least 3.5 for the academic year.

The six honorees on the women’s side are the tied for the most in program history since 2004 and mark the highest number of Hornet award winners since both the 2014-15 and 2015-16 squads also had six student-athletes earn the honor.

This year’s list of winners on the women’s side include: sophomore Paige Alter, sophomore Evangeline Du Toit, freshman Weronika Ejsmont, freshman Maddy Ferreros, freshman Best Lee, and sophomore Tsveti Yotova — all of whom picked up their first career awards from the ITA.
