Who is West Wilson, the Summer House star who went fishing with the ‘hawk tuah girl’? The sports journalist launched West Date Ever with Complex, starring TikTok-famous Haliey Welch

Just when we thought the “hawk tuah” girl had got enough airtime as it was, she’s come back into the limelight – as she’s joined Summer House star West Wilson’s new dating show with single celebs.

The new show, titled West Date Ever and available on Complex’s YouTube channel, features videos of Wilson challenging women to competitive dates, while talking about what it’s like to be single, according to US media. “The dates are, like, kind of gimmicky and cute, and there’s food and games and all that kind of stuff. It’s kind of just getting to know more about them and, like, what dating with a spotlight on you is like,” Wilson told Page Six.

For his first date on the series, the Bravo TV celeb went fishing with the TikTok-famous “hawk tuah girl”, whose real name is Haliey Welch. “It was fun going on a little day date with Haliey. She got thrown into the spotlight almost against her will, so I wanted to make sure she knew I wasn’t there to beat her viral meme over everyone’s heads,” he said in his interview.

After seeing Ciara Miller and West Wilson’s romance blossom on Summer House, many viewers were left wondering if they had kept their relationship going beyond the summer, per People. “We kept things rolling to December, early December we had a dinner about like laying it all out there and figuring out what we were going to do,” West said on a reunion episode of Watch What Happens Live this year. The show had been filmed in summer 2023. “I don’t think we walked around saying boyfriend-girlfriend but basically, we hung out every day.”

West also admitted to sleeping with other women over the summer and wasn’t ready to commit, adds People.
