Job description: Job PurposeAs a Senior HR Manager, and reporting to the People Services Regional Lead, the People Services Country Lead owns effective delivery of people services for managers and colleagues with professionalism and empathy, in line with local legal and regulatory requirements within the whole country, achieving agreed Service Level Agreements.The Senior HR Manager works in partnership with Divisional HR Business Partners as appropriate, adheres to global processes and standards, with responsibility to determine if country specific legal and regulatory requirements are needed as part of the global approach; advocates change in line with company and HR strategy within the country, and participates in HR continuous improvement initiatives.About RWS HROur business is nothing without our people.   • Delivers service to managers and colleagues within the country to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and in line with global processes, responds to needs raised by HRBP and queries raised by managers and colleagues. Monitors HR team performance at the country level and ensures Service Level Agreements are adhered to
  • Monitors and drives culture within country including leading culture transformation and active promotion of One RWS by having a visible presence in the office(s) (if appropriate) and regularly speaking to colleagues and managers.
  • May have a team of HR Advisors and HR Administrators, if so, manages, coaches and mentors team members, maintaining engagement and managing performance aligned to goals.
  • Takes actions or advises on complex employee relations cases including grievance, discipline, performance related, redundancies; demonstrating a high level of professionalism in line with RWS values, offering ‘open door’ and providing advice to colleagues on work related issues with empathy and maintaining close collaboration with relevant HRBPs on cases to ensure alignment on actions and supporting management decision making
  • Actively keeps up to date with local law and regulations and provides leadership and support on country specific employee relations and statutory and regulatory requirements, for example, consulting with Works Councils and staff associations, regulatory reporting, ensuring effective, compliant delivery of HR services.
  • Proactively identifies challenges, inefficiencies, and pain points and both leads initiatives and works with others to continually improve end-to-end HR services and operations, including driving adoption of self-service at country level.
  • Supports and drives the effective and efficient execution of Centres of Excellence (CoEs) solutions, divisional initiatives and change agendas by providing appropriate responses and support to managers and colleagues and meeting SLAs.
  • Fosters strong partnerships with all HR functions including CoEs (e.g. Talent Acquisition, Global Rewards, Talent Development) and Divisional HR BPs to ensure that the team is delivering the service that the business needs and supports the established standards.
  • Manages country HR policies, processes, data and documentation, ensuring maintenance with SLAs, RWS requirements and local legal requirements.
  • Acts on outputs from data audits, and other insights, working with local team to remedy data errors/improve data and incorporate lessons learned to improve data accuracy going forward.
  • Provides oversight and monitoring of payroll processes including data integrity and accuracy in payroll preparation and benefits management and administration within the country.
  • Manages local vendors in line with HR strategy, including maintaining supplier renewals, and leveraging simplification opportunities.
  • Provides support to Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) and assists Site Leader in driving a positive One RWS values-based culture through activities as required.
  • Escalates in a timely way, to People Services Regional Lead when support is required.
  • Carries out other tasks as required to support the Regional People Services team.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of HR generalist work
  • At least 8 years of HR experience and experience managing a team
  • Knowledge of HR strategies, processes, policies, best practices, and laws in a country capacity.
  • Experience/ awareness of working with work councils and/ or unions if appropriate.
  • Clear communicator in written and spoken English, confident and experienced at having difficult conversations on sensitive subjects.
  • Keeps up to date with changes in Country Employment law and best practices.
  • Hands on experience of owning colleague relations cases including redundancy consultation processes, protected conversations, capability and performance and disciplinary cases
  • Strong customer service skills – all colleagues and managers are our customers
  • Friendly, approachable and empathetic with good listening skills and ability to be a trusted advisor to first line and middle managers
  • Team player able to build strong relationships across boundaries
  • Good attention to detail and ability to check the work of others
  • Ability to mentor and help assist the personal development of other team members

Base Pay$90,000 – $120,000 / year plus bonusesActual rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to: position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
