Job description: KIPP Public School’s KIPP Forward team is looking for a Postsecondary Match and Career Manager to join the Postsecondary Match and Career team, working closely with the College & Career Counseling departments at our KIPP NorCal High Schools to design and implement career-connected learning opportunities for all students. This role will be responsible for creating career integration experiences for students to gain wider career exposure and ultimately ensure students matriculate to the best viable postsecondary pathway aligned to their career of highest aspiration.The ideal candidate for this role has a deep passion for social justice and educational equity for all children, has significant experience working in/with schools and/or districts to design and implement career-connected learning opportunities for students and is skilled at high-quality project design and project management. Additionally, this candidate must be competent at building and leveraging relationships with school, CBO, and business partners and in coaching for project success, as well as outstanding written and verbal communication skills. This person is drawn to working with teams of community, school, teacher, and student leaders to design and implement career-connected learning. They must have a demonstrated interest in serving students from historically marginalized communities that have been systematically underserved and be dedicated to doing whatever it takes to support our students to identify their careers of highest aspiration, aligned to their own passions and interests.This role will report to the Associate Director of Postsecondary Match and Career and will be based out of the KIPP Northern California Regional Support Office (Oakland) with regular travel to the KIPP NorCal high school campuses. Leverage that data to recruit private and public sector partners to host career shadow days, informational panels, internship and program opportunities for students to gain exposure and hands-on experienceCreate comprehensive project plans to effectively execute all components of the initiativeLead and support Progressive Pathway/career group presentations in seminar classesWork with systems to promote equity in career-connected learning for students furthest from opportunitySupport C&C staff in building knowledge about and implementing current and emerging best practices for career-connected learningSupport Postsecondary and Career Partnerships Strategy (20%)Manage and build on existing progressive pathway partner relationshipsCreate a Career Technical Education (CTE) partnership rubric and train the team to leverage the toolResearch, identify, source, network and cultivate relationships with new partnersNegotiate with partners towards delivering high quality programming for our students and alumniConsistently report on partners performance and engagement to AD of Postsecondary Match and Career and KIPP Forward DirectorActive participant in college and career partnership working groupsMaintain partnerships trackerExecute Postsecondary Match and Career Project (15%)Create and execute programming focused on increasing postsecondary matriculation and strong transition, aligned to key team, regional, or network prioritiesSpecific project to be determined based on the team and organizational needs at the timeSome previous projects have included managing a mentorship program, managing an internship program, creating and executing a strategy to increase high school student participation in dual enrollment programs.Student Support (15%)Provide advising and coaching services focused on career exploration and progressive pathway programs based on student needs, connecting them to hands-on opportunities that will support them to make a strong postsecondary matriculation decisionTrack and analyze student data [career interests, desired postsecondary pathway, financial aid, internships, etc.] using the match data platformsSupport KIPP Forward data collection and entryLeverage quantitative and qualitative data to proactively track and report on program outcomes, identify areas of success as needed to respond to those areas that need improvementKIPP Forward Team Participation (10%)Attend and participate in all KIPP Forward team meetings, including Regional Learning Days and Regional Support Office team meetingsPlan and participate in weekly one-on-one meetings with managerMeet with DCCs biweeklyOther duties as assignedPhysical, Mental and Environmental DemandsPhysical: Ability to navigate office and school campuses, and hold meetings in different spaces. Traditionally, much of the day involves sitting. Ability to access and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 1-20 lbs. Physical agility to move self in various positions in order to execute duties effectively, which may include kneeling, walking, pushing/pulling, squatting, twisting, turning, bending, stooping and reaching overheadMental: Stress of deadlines and normal work standards, ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives, work with interruptions, concentrate for long periods of time, read, calculate, perform routine math problems, memorize and recall objects and people.Environmental: Office and/or school environment subject to constant interruptions and distractions. KIPP adheres to health and safety guidelines as outlined by the CDC, CDE, and public health agencies’ recommendations.ClassificationThis is a full-time, exempt position based on a full year calendar cycle based out of our Regional Support Office with frequent travel to schools and districts. The salary range for this position is between $82,000 and $100,000.
