NFL safety Jamal Adams signs with Tennessee Titans
Jamal Adams is signing a one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the signing, which was later confirmed by the Titans. This contract is seen as a prove-it deal for the former first-round pick.
Three-time Pro Bowl safety Adams, who has struggled with injuries, has played just 10 games over the past two seasons. His last significant impact came in 2021, with 87 tackles, five passes defensed, four tackles for loss, and two interceptions in 12 games.
Now approaching 29, Adams was not retained by the Seattle Seahawks, the team that traded multiple first-round picks to acquire him from the Jets in 2020.
After entering free agency in early March, Adams signed with the Titans, reuniting with general manager Ran Carthon.
Adams joins a defence featuring established players like Jeffery Simmons and L’Jarius Sneed, along with new additions Chidobe Awuzie, Kenneth Murray, Arden Key, and second-round draft pick T’Vondre Sweat.
If Adams remains healthy, he is expected to make a significant contribution to the Titans’ defence.
