Security guard dies allegedly recording TikTok video in Karachi

A security guard was killed in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Malir after allegedly being hit by a bullet fired from his own weapon while recording a TikTok video, police said.
The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Nawaz, son of Haq Nawaz. According to a statement issued by the Karachi Police spokesperson on Sunday, the security guard was reportedly making a TikTok video when his firearm discharged, killing him on the spot.
Police said a purported TikTok video and CCTV footage surfaced after the incident, showing the guard holding a weapon shortly before the fatal shot. However, authorities added that it has not yet been established whether the incident was accidental or a case of suicide.
Steel Town SHO Aslam said the matter was being investigated from all angles to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities. Police said the cause of the incident would be determined after the completion of the investigation.
