Meet Logan Marshall-Green, The OC alum starring with Sarah Jessica Parker in And Just Like That: he’s Tom Hardy’s ‘twin’ and has dated Anna Paquin and Marisa Tomei

The OC alum Logan Marshall-Green is ready to romance Sarah Jessica Parker in the third instalment of the hit Max Original series And Just Like That. The actor, who played Trey Atwood in the teen drama, has been cast as a guest star and was spotted filming with Parker – in character as Carrie Bradshaw – leaving her apartment and getting cosy with her cat, Shoe. Digital Spy reports that he will most probably play one of her romantic interests on the show.

Per IMDB, Marshall-Green is an award-winning actor known for films like Prometheus, Upgrade and How It Ends, as well as TV shows like The OC, 24, When They See Us and Big Sky. He made his directorial debut in 2019 with Adopt a Highway, starring Ethan Hawke.

But what else do we know about Logan Marshall-Green?

He has a twin brother – but it’s not Tom Hardy

Marshall-Green has long been known for his likeness to British actor Tom Hardy, though the two aren’t related. On a July 2018 episode of The Official Podcast, Marshall-Green revealed that he was aware of the comparison because he knew Hardy’s manager but, for a while, didn’t know who the Venom actor was. However, he now knows Hardy as a “good stage actor”.

But the Lou actor does have someone else who’s practically a doppelgänger – and related to him. Taylor Marshall-Green is Logan’s fraternal twin, though he stays out of the limelight and away from Hollywood.

He calls himself a theatre brat

On the Welcome to the OC, Bitches! podcast, Marshall-Green recalls growing up “around the stage” and being a “theatre brat”. His parents were both drama teachers and his mother, Lowry Marshall, is the artistic director of Brown University’s repertory theatre department, according to IMDB.

The actor admits that he “rebelled against the theatre” at first – but once he got into it, he never thought he’d make it to film or TV, which he compared to a “lottery”. He loves performing live but originally thought he’d be a theatre lighting designer. Thanks to his mum’s guidance, the Quarry actor went on to study theatre at the National Theater Institute in Waterford, Connecticut, and later graduated from New York University’s Tisch Graduate Acting Program.

He loves video games

Marshall-Green is a huge fan of video games. In his own words, he has been a “gamer since day one”. He once enjoyed Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds but said on The Official Podcast that the games were getting “unplayable” because of “squeakers” – that is, kids. He’s also starred in a video game called Telling Lies.

Who has Logan Marshall-Green dated?

During his career as an actor, Marshall-Green has been publicly linked to several Hollywood stars. He reportedly dated True Blood actress and Oscar winner Anna Paquin; his Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star – another Oscar winner – Marisa Tomei; and The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe actress Kelli Garner. In 2012, he married actress Diane Gaeta, who would go on to star in his directorial debut, Adopt a Highway.

The 47-year-old finalised his divorce from Gaeta in 2020, following the pair’s 2019 separation. The couple got joint legal and physical custody of their children, Tennessee Logan, 10, and Culla Mae, 14. Culla Mae is Gaeta’s daughter from a previous relationship.

His ex-wife accused him of cheating and sexual assault

Gaeta announced that she had filed for divorce from Marshall-Green via an Instagram post, in which she claimed that he had cheated on her with actress Sarah Hay.

Two years after their divorce, as the Supreme Court was preparing to overturn the Roe vs Wade ruling protecting the right to abortion in the US, Gaeta made another bombshell claim. In an Instagram post, she revealed that she’d had an abortion at 35, while married to Marshall-Green, after getting pregnant against her will. “I told him it was my fertile day and he needed to pull out and he said, ‘No,’ and didn’t. I got pregnant,” she wrote.

Gaeta noted that without the right to abortion, she would have been forced to have another child with “a man who was raping and physically abusing me”, adding that he “practised and joked about ‘marriage rape’.”
