Maryam Nawaz Approves Rewards for Position Holders

In a significant move to encourage academic excellence, the Punjab government has announced that it will award prizes to the position-holding students from all educational boards across the province. This decision made during a special meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

The meeting, attended by Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, and other key officials, focused on various educational initiatives. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of recognizing and rewarding academic achievements, giving the green light for the awarding of prizes to top students.

Scholarships and Teacher Recognition

In addition to the prizes for students, the Chief Minister also approved scholarships for 25,000 deserving students. The Punjab government will cover all educational expenses for these students, with an annual budget exceeding PKR 125 billion dedicated to this initiative. Moreover, as part of the recognition, one teacher from each top-performing student’s school will also receive an award.

Launch of Transport Program for Female Students

Addressing the needs of female students, the Punjab government has initiated a transport program to provide buses to 60 girls’ colleges across the province in the first phase. This program aims to ensure safe and reliable transportation for female students, making education more accessible.

IT Hubs and Laptop Scheme

During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz also directed the swift implementation of an IT hub in every district of Punjab, a move aimed at enhancing digital literacy and access to technology. Additionally, necessary steps ordered for the continuation of the laptop scheme, which has been a popular initiative among students.

This comprehensive set of initiatives underscores the Punjab government’s commitment to improving the education sector and supporting students in their academic pursuits. By rewarding excellence and providing the necessary resources, the government aims to foster a culture of achievement and innovation among the youth.
