KP Launches Digital Motor Vehicle Registration and Universal Number Plate System
KPITB and the KP Excise Department have launched the Motor Vehicle Registration System and Universal Number Plate System under Vision 2030, led by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur.
Developed by KPITB within just two months by fully digitizing the existing systems, this initiative brings motor vehicle services directly to citizens’ fingertips.
Initially, the system will be open for walk-in citizens. From October 1st, citizens will be able to apply, transfer ownership, and pay fees online through the Dastak application, offering even greater convenience.
Key services include:
- Obtaining a Unique Registration Number and Universal Number Plate.
- Registering new vehicles and applying for Universal Number Plates.
- Viewing token tax details and paying online.
- Registration for vehicles from other provinces.
- NADRA verification integration.
- Seamless online payments via Paymir through any bank or digital wallet.

- Vehicle ownership transfers.
- Vehicle amendments (attribute changes).
- Owner detail updates.
- Registration of auctioned vehicles and transfer of registration numbers.
- A centralized vehicle database to prevent duplicate registrations.
- Unified database for old and new vehicles.
