Job description: Houston, TXOrder: 2105149Order Type : TempToFTJob descriptionThe primary purpose of this position is to (1) Provide Desktop & Server Administration support to Houston, Cy-fair, Conroe, Texas City, Richmond, Liberty, Beaumont, Denver, and other offices and employees of the law firm.Responsibilities: * Provide Prompt & Professional Technical Support to End Users

  • Setup New Employees – Computer, Access Cards, Phone, Applications, etc.
  • Troubleshoot & Diagnose Technical & Connection Issues Related to Desktops & Peripherals
  • Install, Upgrade and Troubleshoot Desktop Operating System & Applications
  • Maintain & Manage Desktops – Wipe, Refresh, Re-Image Desktop PC’s
  • Maintain & Manage Network Printer Fleet – Troubleshoot, Escalate to Vendor
  • Resolve Basic Issues with all LGBS Mission Critical Applications
  • Advise on Software or Hardware Upgrades
  • Troubleshoot Basic Voice and Connectivity Issues with Phones
  • Ensure Firms’ IT Security Posture is Maintained at all Times
  • Maintain Excellent Documentation on IT Processes and Procedures
  • Cross train on mailroom application and act as backup for mail processing
  • Act as backup for routine mailroom runs
  • Work on other IT related projects
  • Be willing to learn Powershell Scripting & other automation tools
  • Be able and willing to cross train and backup staff in the Mail room and File room.
  • Be willing to take on expanded roles with server management, etc.
  • Be able and willing to travel to remote offices, as needed
  • Be willing to work after hours and on weekends if and when needed

Qualifications:

  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Excellent time management skills; punctual; excellent attendance
  • Proven Work Experience as a Desktop Support Technician
  • Advanced Knowledge of Computer Hardware, Chipsets, Memory Modules & Peripherals
  • Knowledge of Modern Operating Systems, Software Applications & Remote Access Systems
  • Communication – ability to understand issues & relay resolutions to end users
  • Ability to work in high-volume, fast paced environment
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Computer Science or Information Technology related Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
  • IT certifications relevant to Desktop Support & Server Management
  • Keeping up with the rapidly advancing technologies and relevant certifications
  • Ability to handle incoming tickets in a timely manner
  • Provide end users with regular updates on escalated issues
  • Follow escalated issues to full resolution
  • Ability to maintain safe and professional work environment
  • Ensures IT assets are in good working condition
  • Keeps IT skillset current
  • Maintains security conscious practices related to use of firm IT resources
  • Excellent attendance & Punctuality (supervised employees)
