Oliver Haarmann is a founding partner at Searchlight Capital Partners, a private equity investment firm with over US$10 billion in assets under management, according to the Aspire Institute. Prior to that he was a senior partner at KKR & Co., a global investment firm based in London. He got his dual bachelor’s degree in history and international relations from Brown University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

He is a philanthropist

Haarmann is chairman of the board at IntoUniversity, a charity that helps make higher education accessible for disadvantaged young people in the UK. He also serves as a member of the board of trustees of Artangel, is an advisory board member for the Aspire Institute, and a member of the board of trustees of Brown, per his LinkedIn page.

According to UK media, Haarmann is divorced from his ex-wife, American businesswoman and investor Mala Gaonkar, who is also a Harvard Business School alum. He shares two sons with her. Gaonkar is now reportedly dating British musician David Byrne.
