Candidate should reside in Pitt CountySome position highlights:
- Create Communities of Practice (CoP) for select industries that will bring together groups of individuals who share a common interest or profession to share knowledge, solve problems, innovate within their field, and mentor potential employers that are considering the use of apprenticeships.
- Develop formal apprenticeship and training program standards for registration: including meeting with appropriate company personnel for development, i.e., CEO, Human Resources Manager, Corporate Attorney, Training Director, owner, etc.; prepare apprenticeship standards that are designed individually for each company that explains how the program operations and develops the total plan of training and incorporate State and Federal regulations in all programs.
- Assist the sponsor to assessing and projecting needed skills and technology changes and integrating them into the training and in developing apprenticeship standards that are following the 29 CFR 29 that determine how the program will operate, policy, including the minimum qualifications for applicants entering apprenticeship training plan; assist the sponsor to develop a selection procedure to select the most qualified applicant applying for apprenticeship; assist the sponsor in understanding Equal Employment Opportunity; assist the sponsor in developing work processes that would describe in detail the on the job training that the apprentice will required to complete before being recognized as a journeyman in the trade.
- Evaluate current training and determine what is needed to meet registration requirements for apprenticeship including the development of competency checklist.
- Assist the sponsor in developing related instruction that would define in detail all courses of instruction the apprentice must complete before the apprentice completes apprenticeship training to ensure the apprentice has all skills required to be proficient in the occupation registered. Assist the sponsor to develop a wage schedule with increments from entry in the program through completion of the program to journeyman status.
- Assist sponsor in understanding the Federal Regulations in such areas as Davis-Bacon and Fair Labor Standards Act including the developing a policy for the operation of the apprenticeship program. Certifying apprentices for federal work- (Davis- Bacon).
- Provide on-going service to employer sponsored “apprenticeship and training programs by installation of registered programs, establishing individual tracking systems/record-keeping systems to ensure proper training is being accomplished for each apprentice, registering apprentices on formal agreements, and preparing appropriate documentation to submit for any prior training received.
- Counsel/interview apprentices and counsel/consult with sponsors. Assist in the transition from high school to an adult program and promote continuing in the adult program for completion. Assist with apprenticeship forum, forum review committee, forum nomination committee, planning forum, obtaining speakers, and nominating outstanding participants.
- Plan job activities by developing an overall strategy at the beginning of each year that outlines course and procedures to obtain established goals; develop monthly strategies and plan of action; and monthly activities to monitor progress and chart adjustments, if necessary.
- Perform task analysis including meeting with subject matter experts to rate the importance of each task. Interview employers and employees. Perform skills analysis to determine the relevant task related to the job. Provide report of findings on the position/job profiled to the employer. Provide information to determine the skill set needed for the occupation.

- Experience in communicating, facilitating and/or negotiating effectively, both orally and in writing.

See the for details.Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, industrial education, instructional design or discipline related to the assigned workforce training area from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in designing, providing, and/or coordinating industry-specific training in higher education, business or the public sector; OR
Associate’s degree in any of those same disciplines from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in designing, providing, and/or coordinating industry-specific training;
