As echoes of the recent Olympic Games linger, with dazzling team uniforms fusing fashion with cultural flair, the fashion and watch industries are gearing up for a spectacular showcase of their own.

The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) will play host to two of Asia’s most anticipated industry events: CENTRESTAGE 2024 (September 4-7) and the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair (September 3-7), including the 12th Salon de TIME.

A platform for fashion innovation

CENTRESTAGE, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), is recognised as Asia’s foremost fashion showcase.

This year the event will feature a diverse line-up of over 250 brands ranging from athleisure to sustainable and culturally inspired fashion. Open to industry professionals and the public alike, it promises to be a dynamic centre of creativity and style.

A highlight of this year’s event is the CENTRESTAGE ELITES gala, set to take place at the Hong Kong Palace Museum on September 3. The gala will be shining a light on the much-anticipated Home Coming show with internationally acclaimed fashion designer Robert Wun, who will unveil his collection.

And at a time when sustainability is high on the agenda, CENTRESTAGE is dedicated to presenting pioneering sustainable fashion concepts. The event will offer insights into how leading designers are incorporating eco-friendly practices into their work, providing a glimpse into a future of fashion that is both chic and conscientious.

Since its 2005 debut, ROKSANDA has been a staple at London Fashion Week and is now expanding under new ownership by The Brand Group. The brand, featured at CENTRESTAGE, is also a nominee for British Womenswear Designer of the Year.
BALC combines traditional batik craftsmanship with modern design, presenting a sophisticated resort collection for men and women that exudes cultural elegance through expertly crafted apparel, bags and hats.

Celebrating horological excellence

Running concurrently with CENTRESTAGE, the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair and Salon de TIME, co-organised with the Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Ltd and The Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries Ltd, serves as a comprehensive platform for the watch industry.

This year, under the theme “Be on Time”, the fair will showcase everything from luxury and designer watches to technologically advanced and sustainable models.

Salon de TIME will feature five themed zones, including the World Brand Piazza, which will showcase limited editions and rare pieces from 10 internationally renowned brands, and Chic & Trendy, which will highlight contemporary trendsetters.

Craft Treasure will showcase exquisite craftsmanship in jewelled watches, while Renaissance Moment will focus on classic elegance with European origins. The Wearable Tech zone, featuring brands such as Oskron from Germany, will showcase the latest in smartwatch technology.

Both shows will host a variety of engaging activities such as watch parades, seminars and buyer forums. In particular, the Hong Kong International Watch Forum and the Asian Watch Conference will provide a platform for industry leaders to discuss trends, market forecasts and innovations towards sustainability in watchmaking.

Fostering future talent: Watch & Clock Design Competition

The 41st Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition is a key event at the fair. Under the themes “Talent Moment” for students and “Go Beyond Innovation” for the open category, the competition aims to stimulate creative exchange and nurture new talent in the local industry.

This year, a new “Made-to-Sell Award” will recognise a design from the student category for its market potential, with the winning design being taken to retail.

Admission to CENTRESTAGE, Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair and Salon de TIME is free, and registration is available online. For more information and to secure a buyer’s badge, please visit the official websites:

To accommodate buyers from all over the world, the watch shows will be held under the EXHIBITION+ hybrid model, which includes “Click2Match”, an online business matching platform available from August 27 to September 14, providing a convenient and efficient means for exhibitors and buyers to connect virtually.

As well as showcasing the latest trends and innovations in fashion and watchmaking, these fairs will also promote understanding and appreciation of the creative and technological advances that are shaping these industries.
