Fishermen protest detention of Pakistanis in India

.
KARACHI:
Families, local residents, and fishermen leaders in Ibrahim Hyderi staged a protest against the detention of 11 Pakistani fishermen by the Indian Coast Guard. The arrested fishermen, all from a single family in Rehri Goth, were reportedly fishing in deep waters when apprehended.
During the demonstration, Kamal Shah, president of Coastal Media, condemned repeated targeting of Pakistani fishermen by Indian authorities. He called on the Government of Pakistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and human rights organisations to take immediate diplomatic action for their release. Shah also appealed to the United Nations and international human rights bodies to take notice of the situation.
According to Shah, most of the detained fishermen are the sole earners for their families, and their absence has caused severe hardship, including food shortages at home. He noted that over 130 Pakistani fishermen from Karachi, Badin, Thatta, and other areas are currently facing imprisonment. Shah demanded the unconditional release of all Pakistani fishermen and called for a permanent policy to prevent such incidents in the future.
