We came upon Mossyard Beach, Dumfries & Galloway, as a tip for somewhere to go that is a secret gem, has a great dog friendly beach along with sweeping views of the Solway Firth.
They were absolutely right. It is a wonderful hidden gem. Away from the hustle and bustle, sand, sea and rocks in one direction with rolling hills in the other. Perfect.
It may be a sandy beach of few hundred metres but with the rocks and the landscape around you can have a whole world of discovery.
Location and Accessibility
Mossyard Beach is located in Dumfries and Galloway at the southwestern part of Scotland, not too far from the village of Gatehouse of Fleet. It lies approximately 3 miles from the charming town. It is placed at the northern tip at the end of the Mouth of Fleet Bay.
It lies off the A75, east of Kirkudbright and Gatehouse of Fleet.
The beach can be reached by car and there is a car park just off the beach. Postcode DG7 2ET. The track takes you past a little farm shop and the car park appears.

As the tide came in the rocks became our pathway and the dogs were having a ball, ther senses as well as our being heigtened by all around us.
