City comes alive with Taraweeh spirit

With the onset of Ramazan, the metropolis has finalised its arrangements for Taraweeh prayers. Over 4,000 mosques across the city will host special congregations for these prayers.

Arrangements have been made at Eidgahs, parks, lawns, and open spaces to accommodate the large number of worshippers. Key venues include Khaliq Dina Hall, Thanvi Masjid Jacob Line, Rehmaniya Masjid Tariq Road, Masjid Baitul Mukarram Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Khatri Masjid PIB Colony, Jamia Masjid Banuri Town, Darul Uloom Karachi, Expo Centre on MA Jinnah Road, New Memon Mosque Bolton Market, Gulzar Habib Soldier Bazaar, Jamia Masjid Aram Bagh and Jinnah Masjid Burns Road.

The city’s mosques are expected to be filled with worshippers during the month, with those in the old city area and other localities thoroughly cleaned and beautifully decorated.

Arrangements for Taraweeh prayers of varying durations (five-day, six-day, 10-day, 15-day, 21-day, 25-day, and 27-day) have been made across the city. These prayers will be accompanied by complete translation and explanation at various locations.

To promote Taraweeh congregations, various groups have put up posters and banners, while social media is being utilised to spread awareness. New rows of mats and carpets have been laid out in mosques, and arrangements have been made for cold water during Taraweeh. Special provisions for Sehri and Iftar have also been organised in various mosques across the city.
