BTS’ Jin fan hug event marred by controversial kisses and safety concerns

BTS’s Jin, returning from his mandatory military service, aimed to celebrate with fans through a free hug event at the 2024 FESTA celebrations. However, the event took a controversial turn as some female fans were caught on video kissing the singer, leaving him visibly uncomfortable.

The incidents quickly went viral, triggering a wave of criticism from netizens and fellow ARMYs who defended Jin and condemned the inappropriate actions of those fans. Comments flooded social media platforms, expressing disapproval and concern for Jin’s well-being. Some users questioned the fans’ motives and called out the behavior as sexual harassment.

Adding to the concerns, a few fans bumped into Jin during the event, prompting him to request them to approach slowly and avoid aggressive behaviour. The event was intended as a special gesture for those who supported Jin throughout his military enlistment, and he diligently stood for three hours to hug 1000 fans.
