Behroze Sabzwari takes U-turn on Imran Khan alcohol drinking remarks

Veteran actor Behroze Sabzwari, a prominent figure in Pakistan’s entertainment industry with a career spanning over four decades, is embroiled in controversy following remarks allegedly made about former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Currently imprisoned at Adiyala Jail in Rawalpindi, Imran Khan has not commented on the situation. The public’s reaction to Sabzwari’s supposed statements has been predominantly negative, with many finding them offensive and unsubstantiated.

The controversy began after Sabzwari’s appearance on a YouTube podcast. During the interview, Sabzwari allegedly claimed that Imran Khan had consumed alcohol in his presence many times and that he has “never had more than one drink” (at a time).

The backlash was swift and severe, leading to the temporary removal of the interview from YouTube. The video has since been restored, further igniting public discourse.

In a recent conversation, Sabzwari strongly denied the allegations, asserting that the interview was heavily edited and misrepresented his words.

“This interview is edited and rubbish,” Sabzwari declared, indicating his intention to pursue legal action against the YouTube channel for distorting his comments. He also announced plans to release a formal statement soon to clarify his position.
