Ayesha Jahanzeb has alleged that she has been subjected to violence by her husband at least thrice over the past year. She sustained serious injuries from the alleged torture, prompting her to seek legal recourse, she stated.

In the FIR, it is stated that Ayesha was tortured and injured by her husband. On Ayesha’s request, the police took swift action, leading to Haris’s arrest. Following his arrest, Haris was produced before a judicial magistrate, who approved a physical remand for two days.

Ayesha Jahanzeb is now fighting a legal battle against her husband, determined to seek justice for the physical abuse she endured. The case has brought to light the serious issue of domestic violence, sparking discussions about the protection of victims and the legal consequences for perpetrators.

Last year, in an interview to a private TV channel, Ayesha had revealed that after the death of her first husband, her mother forced her for a second marriage even when she already had three children. “…my mother asked me to get married again, but I asked her, ‘Why are you forcing me to get married, when you didn’t marry for my sake?’, to which she said, ‘I didn’t marry and that’s the reason I want you to get married’. I was so saddened to hear her answer, I don’t know how lonely was she.”

Talking about her second marriage, she said, “I told my mother’s wish to my only friend, who was single, he was quite close with me and my mother, he proposed me, we got married into a very intimate family gathering. One of my daughter was worried about my second marriage but my husband talked to her first.”
