Meet Ross Lynch, who Troye Sivan gave a lap dance to for ‘One of Your Girls’ – but are they dating? The former Disney Channel star also acted in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Back in October when it was first released, that steamy music video already sparked relationship rumours between the two, and the stage performance is only fanning the flames.

So who exactly is Ross Lynch, and why does he look so familiar?

Ross Lynch never attended high school

Lynch was home-schooled from fourth grade, and started touring with his band R5 when he was 16. According to an interview with Issue Magazine, he believes that “because of all the different cultures I’ve seen, I think about a lot of things differently. Not in a better way, by any means. Just different”.

Ross Lynch comes from a family of performers

Ross is one of five children. He has a sister named Rydel, and three brothers named Riker, Rocky and Ryland. All the siblings except for Ryland were in a band together with family friend Ellington Ratliff. The band, called R5, featured Riker on bass, Rydel on the keyboards, Rocky as lead guitarist, Ratliff as the drummer, and Ross as lead vocalist.

R5 self-released its EP Ready Set Rock in 2010 and remained active for almost eight years. At the start of March in 2018, R5 changed its name on Instagram and then X (formerly Twitter) to The Driver Era, and wiped all of R5’s old posts. Soon after, it was announced that the band would no longer be active, and only Ross and Rocky will remain under The Driver Era.

The remaining Lynch sibling, youngest brother Ryland, is currently a DJ. The family is also related to singer, dancer and actress Julianne Hough, and professional ballroom dancer Derek Hough of Dancing with the Stars fame, who are both second cousins.

Lynch is naturally blond, but dyed his hair for the role of Harvey Kinkle in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix. “It is really interesting to change your hair colour after being blond your entire life,” said Lynch in a 2018 Elle interview.

Is Ross Lynch dating Troye Sivan?

In Sivan’s “One of Your Girls” music video, the singer dressed in drag to seduce a shirtless Lynch. And the two seemingly flirted back and forth on TikTok after the song’s release, leading some fans to believe their on-screen romance might be IRL too …

Lynch first posted a TikTok video in October 2023, using the split screen filter and Sivan’s “One of Your Girls” as the background track. In the video, Lynch is seen jumping around while Sivan watches with the heart-eyed filter over his face, along with the caption, “Ross Lynch said yes and is available to shoot.”

Later that month, Sivan posted a behind-the-scenes video of himself in drag pushing the half-naked Lynch away, telling him to “get out of here”. Sivan also captioned the clip with, “@ross_lynch say what u want and I’ll keep it a secret.”

Neither Lynch or Sivan have confirmed the dating rumours – but neither have they put them to rest. Having said that, it’s worth noting that Lynch has never publicly come out as LGBTQ+ and all of his exes are women – one of whom was Jaz Sinclair, his co-star on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
