PM Shehbaz, President Zardari honour Quaid-e-Azam on 148th birth anniversary

On December 25, Pakistan commemorated the 148th birth anniversary of its founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, with heartfelt tributes from political leaders, military officials, and citizens, celebrating his visionary leadership and his enduring legacy.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam, acknowledging his extraordinary vision, courage, and unwavering determination that led to the creation of Pakistan. 

In his message, the PM described Jinnah as a leader of rare calibre who deeply believed in the principles of unity, justice, and equality. He stressed that Jinnah’s life continues to inspire as an enlightened teacher, visionary lawyer, principled statesman, and charismatic leader. 

PM Shehbaz underscored that Quaid’s dream was of a Pakistan where every citizen could live with dignity, freedom, and equal opportunity, regardless of faith or ethnicity.

On this special day, he called on Pakistanis to renew their commitment to Jinnah’s values of unity, faith, and discipline, which remain vital guiding principles for the nation’s progress.

In addition to honouring the founding father, PM Shehbaz also conveyed warm Christmas greetings to Pakistan’s Christian community and the world. He highlighted the teachings of Hazrat Isa (AS), highlighting peace, love, compassion, and mercy. 

The prime minister acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the Christian community in Pakistan, particularly in education, healthcare, and nation-building.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upholding the rights of all religious communities, ensuring an environment of mutual respect and understanding.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari also paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam, stressing the importance of upholding the values of social justice, economic equity, and the rule of law to fulfil Jinnah’s vision. 

He urged Pakistanis to invest in the education of youth and work toward uplifting disadvantaged communities. He highlighted Jinnah’s dream of a peaceful, moderate Pakistan, calling for harmony both within the country and beyond its borders. 

The president reflected on Quaid’s landmark address to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan on August 11, 1947, in which he envisioned a country based on inclusivity, the rule of law, and the protection of minorities’ rights. 

He urged citizens to renew their pledge to embody Jinnah’s principles in daily life and strive toward building a democratic, inclusive, and prosperous nation.
