Job description: Core Government Services (CGS) is seeking an experienced Health Care Environmental Services (EVS) supervisor, to lead our team on-site in support of the John L. McClellan Memorial Veteran’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.Our supervisors play a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care through a clean and safe environment. You will experience an inclusive work environment in which you are empowered to lead our professional efforts.(EVS) Supervisors will lead teammates in the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services Department. In accordance with the Project Manager’s guidance, supervisors will train, coach and evaluate, and direct staff members. The supervisors will ensure patients, family members, and visitors have a safe and clean environment by providing the highest possible level of service. The supervisors must possess excellent communication skills including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all team members.EVS Supervisor Roles & Responsibilities:Assists the EVS Project Manager in annual reviews of standards and work procedures for all housekeeping staff and safety programs.Participate in regular staff planning meetings and communicate with members of other departments to coordinate housekeeping activities.Plans work and staffing schedules and areas of work to ensure adequate services are rendered.Assists the Project Manager in the hiring and training of new associates.Conducts regular inspections, attends weekly Environment of Care rounds and make recommendations to the Project Manager as needed.Provides staff education and continuous training.Ensures patient rooms, bathrooms, beds, IV poles, furniture are cleaned per EVS standardsEnsures staff completes all detail work, i.e.; high dusting, low dusting, cleaning corners, edges, hopper closets, external vents, window blinds, soap dispensers, outside of trash cans.Ensures proper handling and disposal of regular trash and of Medical Waste / Chemo Waste, soiled linen and uses proper PPE.Ensures outside of facility is maintained in a safe, clean, and attractive manner.Counsels staff members when necessary according to company disciplinary guidelines.Conducts regular inventory of housekeeping supplies.Required Skills & Qualifications:Trainer – Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) through the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE)Associates degree or three (3) years equivalent experience in Environmental Services (EVS); VA hospital experience preferred.3 – 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a health care environmental services are required.Ability to multitask while leading a team through strong communication and interpersonal skills.Compassionate servant leader with high customer service and emotional intelligence.Proficient in Windows based Office 365 software.Working Conditions: Government hospital siteRequired Travel: MinimalJob Type: Full-Time, Non-exemptContract Length: More than 1 yearBenefits and unique perks offered, but not limited to:
