Rapper Machine Gun Kelly – or MGK; real name, Colson Baker – recently celebrated one year of sobriety and opened up about the milestone on an episode of the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. While discussing the last year, he told the podcast that his journey to sobriety began with a conversation with his daughter, Casie Colson Baker, who was just 11 or 12 at the time. She told her father “Dad, you know I can tell when you’re high?” The comment broke the Grammy-nominated artist’s heart and he told the podcast he realised he’d inflicted the “ultimate letdown”.

MGK shares his daughter with his ex, Emma Cannon, and recently celebrated the teenager’s 15th birthday. To mark the occasion, the doting dad posted an endearing photo dump on Instagram. “The world spins but when I look at you, it stops. Happy 15th, princess,” the “Rap Devil” singer wrote, coupled with pictures of the father-daughter duo over the years.

It’s assumed that Cannon was still a teenager when she had Casie in 2008, as MGK was just 18 at the time.

Many fans have theorised that MGK’s 2013 song “Her Song” may be about Emma Cannon. The lyrics hint at how the rapper regrets losing his “dream girl” while chasing his artistic ambitions. The song also references the band Blink-182 and according to some reports, MGK met Cannon at a Blink-182 concert.
