Job description: We have an immediate opportunity for a Staff Accountant for our fast paced, deadline-driven Accounting Department!The Staff Accountant will assist in the day-to-day accounting, Accounts Payable, monthly agent commission process, monthly reconciliations, month-end close, as well as other general accounting related activities.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle Accounts Payable-code & process invoices, mail out checks and maintain accounts payable files.
- Maintain central accounts payable e-mail account
- Reconcile and audit vendor statements. Follow up with vendors
- Assist processing monthly agent commissions. Print, sort, and process monthly commission statements.
- Support agent inquiries
- A/R for In-house Printing Dept
- Assist with month-end reporting
- Assist with maintenance of 1099’s
- Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis
- Maintain and balance intercompany receivables/payable
- Data input of journal entries for month-end
- Assist with various ad hoc reporting
- Additional duties may be assigned based on capacity
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Seeking 1-3 years of Accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail is a must!
- High proficiency in Excel and Microsoft applications, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to consistently produce accurate work and meet deadlines
- Prior accounts payable experience preferred
- Great organizational skills
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work responsibilities
- Ability to work in a team setting as well as independent
