4.7 magnitude earthquake hits Balochistan, sparking panic
A 4.7 magnitude earthquake struck near the city of Sibi in Balochistan causing panic among residents.
The tremors, with an epicenter located 22 kilometers southeast of Sibi at a depth of 18 kilometers, affected surrounding areas, Express News reported.
Local reports indicate that as the earthquake struck, people rushed out of their homes, fearful of potential aftershocks.
Many recited prayers in panic, but fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
While authorities are assessing the situation, there have been no immediate reports of significant damage or loss of life.
Residents in the affected area have expressed relief, though the tremors served as a reminder of the region’s vulnerability to seismic activity.
Last month, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 on the richter scale struck Islamabad, Peshawar, and several other districts in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The tremors were strongly felt in Peshawar, Swat, Abbottabad, Malakand, and Buner including Islamabad.
The earthquake was also felt in Mohmand, Charsadda, and Attock districts of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
The epicenter was located in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan Border Region at a depth of 220 km, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad.
However, no immediate reports of damage or casualties were received.
The tremors caused panic among residents, who quickly evacuated their homes and offices, reciting prayers as they moved to safety.
