25th anniversary and beyond: ASTRI drives innovation and solidifies Hong Kong’s standing as a leading I&T hub

As of 2024, ASTRI has transferred over 1,500 technologies to industry partners and secured more than 1,100 patents worldwide, including in China and the United States.
ASTRI has demonstrated a strong commitment to applied research, achieving significant milestones in both local and international I&T ecosystems. These achievements include establishing the Hong Kong Branch of the National Engineering Research Centre for ASIC Systems (CNERC) in partnership with Southeast University; contributing to Mainland China’s first Third-Generation Semiconductor Power Electronics Technology Roadmap; and launching a cross-border smart connected autonomous vehicle driving test in Hetao, Shenzhen.
Strategic partnerships
ASTRI has played a strategic role in bolstering the research landscape through collaboration with the government, academia, industry, and research institutions. This effort has been pivotal in positioning Hong Kong as an international I&T hub.
“The establishment of four technological consortia, covering areas such as microelectronics, smart mobility, fintech, and construction technology, exemplifies ASTRI’s dedication to building robust industry partnerships and driving technological advancements,” says Ir Lee.
